CELPIP results: how long they take, and how long they last
Everything Paragon actually says about CELPIP results, in one place: when your scores appear, how to download the official report, how long the scores stay valid, and whether a re-evaluation is worth paying for.
CELPIP results are posted to your CELPIP Account in 2 to 4 business days after your test date, and CELPIP scores are valid for two years from the date the score report is issued.
Business days exclude weekends and public holidays, so a Friday test usually posts the following Tuesday to Thursday. You get an email when the scores go live, and the Official Score Report downloads from your account as a PDF. Hard copy reports no longer exist.

Note the two different anchors: account access runs two years from your test date, while validity runs two years from the date the score report is issued. They are usually a few days apart, which matters only if you are applying right at the edge of the window.
How to check your CELPIP results
- 1Wait for the email. Paragon emails you as soon as the scores are posted, normally 2 to 4 business days after the test.
- 2Sign in to your CELPIP Account on celpip.ca and select Check Scores.
- 3Download the CELPIP Official Score Report as a PDF. This is the file you send to IRCC or any other organisation. Save it somewhere permanent, because account access ends after two years.
- 4Read your four levels. You get a level from 1 to 12 for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and nothing else. There is no overall CELPIP score.
What your CELPIP score report actually shows
Four skill levels, each from 1 to 12. CELPIP levels line up one to one with CLB levels, so a CELPIP 9 in Reading is CLB 9 in Reading. Paragon does not publish an overall CELPIP number, and programs read the four skills separately, usually against your weakest skill rather than an average.

A real CELPIP score report example
Below is a genuine result from a full mock sat on this platform in August 2026, not a mock-up and not an invented example. Reading and Listening were marked against the answer key, and Writing and Speaking were evaluated by experts on the four official rating categories. It is laid out the same way your own report is, so you can see what a CELPIP score report sample looks like before you sit one.
One difference worth stating plainly: an official CELPIP score report comes from Paragon through your own CELPIP account and is the only version an immigration or licensing body will accept. This is a practice report. It uses the same 1 to 12 scale so the number means the same thing, but it carries no official standing.
How to read this report
Reading came back at level 11 from 36 correct out of 38, and Listening at level 7 from 28 out of 38. Those two are marked, so the raw score maps straight onto a level with no judgement involved. Writing and Speaking have no raw score at all: each is rated 1 to 12 on four categories, and this candidate scored 7 on every one of them.

The gap between Reading at 11 and the other three at 7 is the most useful thing on this report, and it is the pattern we see most often. An average of 8 looks comfortable, but almost every immigration and licensing program reads your weakest skill, not your average. On this report that is a 7, so the honest answer is that this candidate holds CLB 7, not CLB 8, for any program with a minimum in every skill.
Every task was answered on topic, at a well-controlled pace and with clear pronunciation. Vocabulary range was the single highest-leverage fix: word choice stayed conversational where precise, task-specific language would have carried the response into the next band. Descriptive tasks lost marks for listing details rather than building a scene the listener can picture.

Should you pay for a CELPIP re-evaluation?
You can ask Paragon to re-score some or all components within six months of your test date. You pay a fee up front, and it is refunded for any component whose level actually changes. The outcome takes about one to two weeks.
The part most people miss: Paragon states that re-evaluating Listening and Reading is unlikely to change your scores, because those components are computer rated. If your gap is in Listening or Reading, a retake is usually the better use of the money. Re-evaluation is meaningful for Writing and Speaking, which humans rate.
There is a limit of one re-evaluation per component, and requests are final sale: once submitted they cannot be cancelled.
If a retake is the better call, the cheapest way to find out where the marks went is to work through the question type that cost you them. Listening splits into six parts and Reading into four, and each one behaves differently: the Discussion clips ask you to track who holds which view across three speakers, while Reading for Viewpoints is the 10 question, 12 minute part where the wrong option is usually the one that overstates the writer's position. Both come with worked answers.

How long does it take to get CELPIP results?
CELPIP Test scores are available online through your CELPIP Account in 2 to 4 business days after your test date. Business days do not include weekends or public holidays, so a Friday test commonly posts the following Tuesday to Thursday. Paragon notifies you by email as soon as the scores are posted.
How do I check my CELPIP results?
Sign in to your CELPIP Account on celpip.ca and use the Check Scores button. Results are online only: hard copy score reports have been discontinued. Once your scores are posted you can download your CELPIP Official Score Report as a PDF, which is the file you submit to IRCC or to any other organisation that asks for it.
How long are CELPIP results valid?
CELPIP scores are valid for two years from the date your score report is issued. Separately, you can access and view your scores inside your CELPIP Account for two years from your test date. If you are applying to IRCC, check their current rule on how recent a language test must be at the time you apply, because the immigration deadline is what governs your application.
What if my CELPIP results are late?
Paragon says scores are posted in 2 to 4 business days. If more than 5 business days have passed since your test and nothing has appeared in your account, that is the point at which they ask you to contact them. Check your junk mail folder first, since the notification is sent by email.
Can I get my CELPIP test re-evaluated?
Yes. You can request a re-evaluation of some or all components of your CELPIP-General Test within six months of your test date. There is a fee, which is refunded for any component whose level actually changes. You get the outcome in approximately one to two weeks. There is a limit of one re-evaluation per component, and requests are final sale and cannot be cancelled once submitted.
Is it worth re-evaluating Listening or Reading?
Usually not. Paragon states directly that requesting a re-evaluation of the Listening and Reading components is unlikely to change your scores, because those two components are computer rated. Re-evaluation is far more meaningful for Writing and Speaking, which are scored by human raters.
What does the CELPIP score report show?
A level from 1 to 12 for each of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. There is no single overall CELPIP number: Paragon does not issue one, and programs read your four skill levels individually. CELPIP levels map one to one onto CLB levels from 1 to 12, so a CELPIP 9 in a skill is CLB 9 in that skill.
Does CELPIP report my raw score out of 38?
No. Your report shows only the CELPIP level for each skill. Listening and Reading each contain 38 scored questions, and the raw count is converted to a level before you see it, which is why the same raw score can sit at slightly different levels across test forms.
